Karen Sargsyan was born on September 12, 1952 in Armenia, she started her musical education as a cellist, then after graduating from the Faculty of Music of Yerevan Pedagogical University named after Kh. and abroad.
1989 founded a men's choir, which delighted listeners in a number of countries with its high-quality performances.
1991-93 K. Sargsyan worked with the German "Wiesbaden-Sonenberg" choir as a guest conductor. Performing in many countries, he presented the Armenian choral art at a professional level. He also worked in the Diaspora, sharing his experience and knowledge with the art-loving public of the Armenian communities of Australia, Germany, and Syria.
Since 1993, he has been directing the choir of the Yerevan Opera House. Karen Sargsyan greatly contributed to the success of many opera productions.
In 2006, he was awarded the honorary title of Honored Artist of the Republic of Armenia by the decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia.
Since 2006, he is the artistic director of the choir of the Charles Aznavour Culture Center of Yerevan State University.
In 2012, he was awarded the gold medal of the RA Ministry of Culture.
Since 2014, by the order of Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, he has led the choir of the Grigor Lusavorich Mother Church and Theological Seminary of Yerevan.
